Why europe
Portrait of Sébastien Nolens

Sebastien is RE-IMAGINE EUROPA’s Events Manager. He has 10 years of experience in institutional events and a Master in Communications (IHECS, 2005).

After entering the sector via Brussels’ Convention Bureau visit.brussels, he explored the other side, working for leading EU events contractor VO EUROPE where he piloted the organisation of large congresses for the European Commission. Those included Digital Transport Days 2019 in Helsinki, All-Atlantic Ocean Research Forum, FCH European Hydrogen Week 2020 + 2021, MSCA Cluster events on Cancer + Green Deal, and a New European Bauhaus citizen consultation. His personal interest for mobility solutions made him work for the POLIS Network as Consortium Coordinator for Urban Mobility Days 2022 in Brno, Czech Republic. Working with RE-IMAGINE EUROPA since January 2023 is a continuation of this move towards meaningful EU associations.

Sebastien likes to make a difference and get things done. He can get very enthusiastic about creative ideas, harmonious graphic design and well-articulated registration processes. Like a good francophone de Flandre he is native in both Dutch and French, but has worked for years in English and Spanish. He is eager to discover new words and expressions.

Besides his work, Sebastien is an avid endurance cyclist. He finished the gruelling Transcontinental Race twice (4000km in 15 days) and once rode an Everesting in the centre of Brussels (Mont des Arts 426x in one day). He created original sports events like Little Belgium, a 300km bike ride the exact shape of Belgium. He also loves to travel throughout Europe and knows the continent like a true citizen of the EU.
