On the 8th of September 2020, the Members of the Advisory Board of Re-Imagine Europa met for the first hybrid meeting to discuss the future of Europe in these changing times.
The current pandemic is the latest in a series of crises that have hit Europe during the past decade and has put enormous pressure both on national governments and the European institutions. At the same time, it has also underlined the need for a new way of doing – and seeing – politics, based on collaboration and new thinking.
For this reason, despite the current travel restrictions, President Giscard d’Estaing called for a meeting of the Advisory Board of Re-Imagine Europa to meet to discuss how the current pandemic will affect the vision proposed by the organisation and how Re-Imagine Europa can contribute to a broader discussion about the future of Europe. Re-Imagine Europa wants to contribute to this discussion and would like to take this opportunity to reassess our vision during autumn 2020 and come with a text and a vision for Europa that can go beyond personal, national or party interests.
The meeting was also the first opportunity to welcome the members who have been appointed in recent months to the advisory board: Ms Magdalena Adamowicz, Ms Carina Autengruber, Mr Giovanni Fosti, Mr Carlos Moedas and Mr Isidre Fainé Casas.
