Giovanni La Placa works at the DG Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission. He deals with the analysis of research and innovation policies in the Member States and contributes to the coordination of the country-specific knowledge of the JRC. Before joining the European Commission in 2013, he worked as project manager and economist for various entrepreneurial organisations both in Brussels and in Italy.
