Born in Canary Islands (Spain), Luis Alvarado Martínez studied under Spanish, British, French and Belgium educational systems. He holds a Master European Political & Public Administration Studies by the College of Europe in Bruges and undergoes Executive Education at the London School of Economics & Political Science (LSE)
Alvarado has developed most of his volunteer and professional youth work career in AEGEE-Europe/European Students´ Forum. He has worked closely in youth areas with the UN system, OSCE, European Parliament, the European Commission, the Council of the EU and the Council of Europe. He has been a Member of the Advisory Council on Youth of the Council of Europe, has sat in different boards for different Civil Society Organizations and worksfor the Rockefeller Foundation’s 100 Resilient Cities initiative in London.
Luis Alvarado’s work has been recognized with several distinctions such as “Young European of the Year 2014” by the Schwarzkopf Foundation, the European Charlemagne Youth Prize 2013 by the European Parliament and the Public Service Innovation Award 2015 by the European Center for Government Transformation among others.
