President Giscard d’Estaing met with Secretary General Angel Gurria to discuss the knowledge partnership between the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and Re-Imagine Europa.
The mission of the OECD is to promote policies that will improve the economic and social well-being of people around the world. It OECD provides a forum in which governments can work together to share experiences and seek solutions to common problems.
Mr Angel Gurria is also joining the Advisory Board of Re-Imagine Europa to support its work on innovative economic approaches to the most pressing challenges facing Europe today.
As Secretary-General of the Organisation of Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) since 2006, he has firmly established the Organisation as a pillar of the global economic governance architecture and a reference point in the design and implementation of better policies for better lives. Under his watch, the OECD is leading the effort to reform the international tax system, and to improve governance frameworks. He has also heralded a new growth narrative that promotes the well-being of people, including women, gender and youth, and has scaled up the OECD contribution to the global agenda, including the Paris Agreement on Climate Change and the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals.
A big thank you to the OECD and Mr. Angel Gurria for all their support.
