ReImagine Europa mourns the loss of former Dutch Prime Minister and member of our Advisory Board, Wim Kok. We were deeply honored by his support and will always be grateful for his visionary and generous contributions to the work of Reimagine Europa. His consensus building spirit and his strong commitment to building stronger and fairer societies inspired our work and will guide us in the future.

Wim Kok served two consecutive terms as Prime Minister of The Netherlands from 1994 to 2002 after having been Minister of Finance and Deputy Prime Minister from 1989 to 1994. He served as the political leader of the Dutch Labour Party (PvdA) from 1986 to 2002.

Mr Kok started his career in the Netherlands Confederation of Trade Unions, becoming its President from 1973 till 1985. Between 1979 and 1982, he served also as President of the European Trade Union Confederation. After having stepped down as Prime Minister in 2002 he served in boards of non-profit organisations (Club de Madrid, ICG, ICMP and others) and of several international companies as well. In 2004, he headed a high level group advising the European Council on revitalising the European economy. In 2003, Mr Kok was appointed Minister of State of the Netherlands.

Our sincere condolences to his family and friends.
