His research has focused on nutrient efficiency mechanisms in tomato and apple breeding, contributing to advancements in sustainable agriculture and plant genetics. For several years, he led the Policy and Advocacy team at the GeneSprout, an initiative representing early-career researchers in plant sciences and promoting science outreach. Passionate about policy, advocacy, innovation, and science communication, he actively worked to enhance EU regulatory frameworks related to R&D in the field of agriculture, plant biology and biotechnology. Germán actively contributes to public debates at both EU and international levels, stimulating dialogue among diverse stakeholders.
