Decoding narratives emotions, and cognitive frames
A scientific lens on the underlying structural drivers of public discourse and social transformation
Our REFRAME methodology combines quantitative and qualitative analysis of large-scale data to produce scientifically robust, evidence-based and value-neutral narrative maps and analytical tools. These tools support a rigorous understanding of how individuals and societies construct, stabilise and transform meaning over time.
What we do
- Narrative Analysis
Systematic mapping of narrative ecosystems to identify dominant frames, emotional dynamics and points of narrative interaction. Working with an extensive network of public and private institutions across Europe and US, we have developed projects to decipher narratives on a great variety of topics such as Climate, the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), Covid-19, Food Systems, Migration, NGTs, and Official Development Assistance (ODA).
- Depolarisation Strategies
Research-based workshops, training and analytical tools designed to reduce escalation dynamics, improve mutual intelligibility across competing narrative communities and build cognitive resilience.
- Disinformation Strategies
Meaning-based approaches to disinformation developed through European research consortia, combining narrative analysis and observatory data to address the structural drivers of disinformation beyond fact-checking and content moderation.
