Climate

Climate change is the defining challenge of our century, carrying far-reaching consequences that ripple across Europe and the globe. Extreme weather and biodiversity loss are no longer distant threats; they are lived realities that affect our communities unevenly, deepening existing social and economic inequalities. Addressing this crisis requires more than just urgent policy – it demands a deeper understanding of how people perceive, experience, and respond to a changing world.

Re-Imagine Europa (RIE) approaches climate as a cultural and societal matter, not just an environmental one. Through our flagship initiatives, we explore the vital intersection of climate science, human behavior, and public discourse. Groundbreaking research delivered by the RIE-led European Narratives Observatory (NODES) shows how climate narratives are often weaponized in social and political discourse, fostering polarisation and stalling progress. Building on this foundation, Re-Imagine Europa works with leading experts and organisations across Europe to counteract narrative-based disinformation and polarisation about climate, biodiversity and sustainability.

Furthermore, by collaborating with pioneering EU-funded research initiatives such as Neuroclima, we apply the latest insights in behavioral science to understand the cognitive drivers of climate action. Our goal is to foster a more inclusive, informed, and transformative European response by helping our society find a common language for change.
