What we do

Working with experts to deliver evidence-based policy recommendations

Many of today’s most pressing challenges — from artificial intelligence and climate transition to security, health and economic resilience — cannot be addressed by adapting existing policy frameworks. They require new ways of thinking, new regulatory approaches, and new forms of coordination across levels of governance. Public institutions are therefore confronted with a double task: responding to urgent concerns while operating within complex institutional systems, legal constraints and political realities.

Re-Imagine Europe works with experts and policymakers to bridge this gap. Drawing on a network of leading specialists and deep knowledge of European policymaking processes — from national to European and international levels — we support the development of policy options that are both innovative and institutionally viable.

What we do

  • Policy Design. Development of concrete policy options, frameworks, and roadmaps for novel and cross-cutting challenges that do not fit established models. Among our recent activities: Workshop about Food Systems and NGTs; roundtables with MEPs on Disinformation and AI, initiative to build an Critical Infrastructure for European Media, etc.
  • Expert Advisory Processes. Organisation and coordination of expert input to structure complex policy questions, test assumptions, and inform decision-making. Re-Imagine Europe belongs to the T20 group of leading think tanks and research institutes from around the world, providing evidence-based policy recommendations to G20 leaders, and is one of the founding institutions of the European Network for Technological Resilience and Sovereignty. Our Chief Executive, Erika Staël von Holstein, is a member of the European Commission Expert Groups for Science Diplomacy and the International Forum on Digital Democracy, among other high-level expert groups.
