Workshop – Navigating Polarised Narratives: Understanding Regional Food Systems in the EU

Start date: 09/10/2024
End date: 09/10/2024
Where: European Committee of Regions

The European Week of Regions and Cities is an annual four-day event during which cities and regions showcase their capacity to create growth and jobs, implement European Union cohesion policy, and prove the importance of the local and regional level for good European governance. The 22nd Edition of the European Week of Regions and Cities (#EURegionsWeek), under the moto “Empowering Communities”, will happen on 7-10 October 2024.

On October 9th, at 16h30 (CET), Re-Imagine Europa, the European Committee of the Regions’ commission for Natural Resources (NAT), ICLEI, European Food Forum and Novo Nordisk Foundation will organise a political workshop on “Navigating Polarised Narratives: Understanding Regional Food Systems in the EU”.

After delving into the polarising narratives of regional food system realities across EU Member States, the session’s objective will be the creation of a robust, multi-stakeholder platform designed to catalyse cooperation in the transition of local food systems towards sustainability, thereby addressing the evolving challenges and opportunities of tomorrow’s agrifood landscape while maintaining regional distinctiveness.
