Dr Daria Gołębiowska-Tataj joins the European Commission’s Expert group on the economic and societal impact of research and innovation (ESIR)

Dr Daria Gołębiowska-Tataj, CEO of Tataj innovation and member of Re-Imagine Europa’s advisory board, has joined the Expert group on the economic and societal impact of research and innovation (ESIR), a high-level expert group that provides evidence-based policy advice to the European Commission on how to develop a forward-looking and transformative research and innovation policy.

Businesswoman and entrepreneur, Dr Gołębiowska-Tatajdeveloped her career as an investment banker and venture capitalist before joining the founding Board of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) in 2008. Dr Gołębiowska-Tatajhas already worked with the European Commission, as chair the group of High-Level Advisors to Carlos Moedas, former EU Commissioner for Research, Science and Innovation (2015-2019).

ESIR is considered a very relevant element in the plan of President Ursula von der Leyen to drive Europe’s transition to full sustainability, in the effort to maintain her commitment to transform Europe into a climate neutral continent by 2050. The group, chaired by Ms Sandrine Dixson-Declève, currently includes sixteen experts who cover sustainability issues from a variety of angles while emphasising stakeholder engagement and co-designing of outputs and activities.
