AI4Gov-X is an ambitious four-year initiative funded under the European Union’s Digital Europe Programme. Coordinated by POLI.DESIGN, the project aims to revolutionise digital governance and public sector transformation through advanced education, innovation, and collaboration across Europe.
In the context of rapid technological advancements, governments face increasing pressure to adopt effective and equitable digital solutions. AI4Gov-X addresses this need by creating a framework for empowering public and private sector professionals with the tools to lead the digital transformation, with a focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Spaces, and Digital Governance Transformation.
The project will deliver two yearly editions of an innovative online master’s programme, supplemented by credential-based learning modules and extracurricular activities. These educational offerings are designed to equip participants with both theoretical and practical expertise. AI4Gov-X will also leverage a distributed innovation platform, AI4Scale, and an AI-powered network of excellence, AI4Engine, to connect stakeholders and foster a collaborative ecosystem for GovTech innovation.
With the involvement of 41 institutions spanning academia, civil society, and industry across 20 EU Member States and Associated Countries, AI4Gov-X exemplifies pan-European collaboration. Partners will contribute cutting-edge expertise, from curriculum development to beta testing the project’s key technological tools.
AI4Gov-X focuses on enabling systemic change through education and innovation. By addressing challenges such as skill gaps and promoting inclusive digital transformation, the project aims to strengthen public sector capabilities while ensuring societal benefits.
Re-Imagine Europa plays a critical role as one of the key partners, contributing to stakeholder engagement, dissemination, and the development of forward-looking narratives that align with the project’s objectives.
AI4Gov-X aspires to leave a lasting legacy by creating sustainable structures and practices that can be adopted across Europe. Its mission aligns with broader EU goals of fostering a digitally inclusive society and enhancing the competitiveness of its public sector.
